Using a nom de plume, please comment on this instructional strategy:
Students who are able to participate anonymously add value to your class that would otherwise be missing with the traditional hand rising strategies that some teachers currently employ.
If you have a blog (or use a message board) and you enable students to share their knowledge without others knowing (who they are), you will have greater class participation.
What do you think? What are your fears?

Classroom Web Site is For School First and Home Second!
The Biggest Mistake
Using a nom de plume, please tell us your thoughts about this:
Using a nom de plume, please tell us your thoughts about this:
Teachers continue to think that a classroom web site is for kids to use at home. Kids do not want to go to their classroom web site to practice skills (while at home) anymore than they want to open their Social Studies books (while at home).
Classroom web sites should be created to provide information for your students while in school. If they use your site at home, that is just frosting on the cake!

Software for All
If students can not access the software they use in school, then schools should not use it.
Using a nom de plume, tell me what you think of that statement.
What I am advocating is for schools to:
- stop using Microsoft Office, but to use Open Office
- stop using Inspiration and use CMap
- stop using Adobe Photoshop and use the Gimp
- stop using Internet Explorer and use Firefox.
